For better protection, it gets a metallic bash plate, and as part of the BS6.2 update, it also gets a fuller, closed-loop hand guards. The small 12-litre tank too is from the Gixxer 250. Suzuki has increased the length of the subframe so that the rider and the pillion would have more room to move around. A tail rack-cum-grab rail for mounting luggage and a standard USB charger add to the touring credentials of the baby V-Strom 250 SX. The V-Strom 250 SX gets the same 249 cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC engine from the Gixxer 250, mated to a 6-speed gearbox and pumping out 26.5PS and 22.2Nm. At 835 mm, its seat height is a considerable 35 mm more than the Gixxer’s. Even though the V-Strom 250 SX gets a solid 205mm of ground clearance, a major miss is the tiny 120 mm of suspension travel at the front. It has 19-inch and 17-inch tyres slapped at the front and rear respectively. The braking duties have been allotted to discs at both ends. The price of this is about Rs. 2.11 Lakh.
